Vine and Leaf Leis

Maile vine and ti leaf leis are popular styles. They are mostly worn by men though many of the ti leaf leis are suitable for women. Some ti leaf leis include tuberose that makes them fragrant.

Ti leaves come from a plant that grows throughout Hawaii. It is used for cooking as well as lei making. Ti is thought to bring luck and the leaves are often used in blessings. You will see several styles of ti leaf leis here.

Maile is a wild vine that grows primarily on the Big Island around Hilo. It is made into an open lei that is seen worn by men in weddings and at graduation. Some maile is brought in from the Cook Islands.
