Hula Skirt Ti Leaves
Hula skirt ti leaves are longer and wider than the ti leaves we use for our Hawaiian flower assortments. These leaves are not harvested until they are big enough to create a genuine hula skirt. There are many on line sources for artificial paper or silk leaves. We bring you the real thing fresh from farms here in Hawaii. So you can make a ti leaf hula skirt that will be genuinely Hawaiian.
Ti leaves have a long tradition here in Hawaii. They are an evergreen plant that grows in many places throughout the islands. In addition to their use for hula they can be used for lei making and cooking. The ti plant is believed to hold special energy to convey good luck and to ward off harm.
Please order well ahead of your event. Also, when selecting your arrival date allow yourself enough time to make your skirts with care. Ti leaves can be kept with the lower stem in water just like a flower and will remain fresh for some time.
We would love for you to share your handiwork and event on our Facebook page.
